"La France" (the most popular western pear variety in Japan.) French native pear. It was discovered by Mr. Claude Blanchet in Isere province around 1864, and the mating parent is unknown. References "THE PEARS OF NEWYORK" Page440 (issued in 1921) It was introduced to Japan in 1903. I am an orchardist. I have endeavored to create an artistic record of fruit that I have grown in its "most visually beautiful form prior to being harvested". My artwork is similar to "botanical art," seeking to depict both precision and a level of detail, combined with aesthetic beauty.
